So here's how:

  1. Make sure you are in the branch that you want to tag. You can check the current branch by typing git branch.
  2. Add any changes you want to commit using the command git add . (to add all changes) or git add <filename> (to add specific files).
  3. Commit the changes using the command git commit -m "commit message". Replace commit message with a brief summary of the changes you made.
  4. Push the changes to the remote branch using the command git push.
  5. Create a tag for the current commit by using the command git tag <tagname>. Replace <tagname> with the name of the tag you want to create.
  6. Push the tag to the remote repository using the command git push origin <tagname>. This will push the tag to the Github repository.
  7. Verify that the tag has been pushed by going to the Github repository and checking the tags section. You should see the new tag listed there.
